-Roy T. Bennett
My path to counseling grew from a curiosity about how our early experiences and relationships shape who we become. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, understood, and supported, and I am passionate about creating that kind of grounded, warm space for others. My experiences supporting youth in clinical and community settings strengthened my desire to be a counselor, as I witnessed how guidance and support can foster growth and healing. I am drawn to helping young clients discover their strengths and develop skills to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
I work with children and adolescents as they navigate emotional, relational, and developmental challenges. I support clients with a wide range of concerns, including (but not limited to) anxiety, difficulty managing emotions, and challenging life experiences. My approach is collaborative, relational, and strengths-based, with an emphasis on helping clients feel supported as they build resilience and self-compassion. I meet clients where they are and move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. I value collaboration with parents and other caregivers or support systems as part of a client’s growth.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. I am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Human Development Counseling with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Vanderbilt University.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, reading, doing Pilates, and going on long walks with my golden doodle, Bo!
