Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.
N. R. Narayana Murthy
I counsel individuals (adults & adolescents), families, and couples. Much of my experience includes counseling families & couples impacted by addiction. I welcome clients of all backgrounds and work with people across differences of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. I have after-school and some limited evening hours available to better serve those with packed schedules during the day.

Despite relationships being the place where many of our wounds come from, they are also the place for healing. Addiction, loss, trauma, conflict…the story does not have to end there. It can move to recovery, acceptance, healing, and connection. We are all “hard-wired” to be in relationship with others. Repairing and altering the cycles that get us “stuck” and addressing the wounds that occur in close relationships is where that healing happens. Whether the troubles are in our relationships or the troubles are inside of us, counseling can help.

I am a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am trained in and use Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and individuals and I am a certified SYMBIS premarital therapist. I also possess a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in neurobiology with a background in academic scientific research at two universities and have experience working in addiction treatment centers. I am supervised by Rob Curwen, LMFT (License #762) while I pursue licensure in the state of TN. I am also a person in recovery and so have a special insight when working with individuals and families in their battles with and wounds from addiction.
