I received my training and degree in Marriage Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. I am a Licensed Marital Family Therapist (License #762), a Certified PREPARE/ENRICH counselor and Certified Dave Ramsey Financial Counselor. I also have a CPA license (inactive) in California. I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (for Individuals, Couples and Families) and use that model when working with clients. I also am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting. I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor
I began my career as an accountant at KPMG. I was successful in that career but never happy. It’s been over two decades since I realized my passions and gifting were in helping others on a personal level through the difficult times in their lives.
My philosophy of therapy is holistic, meaning that I believe that people are made up of many parts – body, soul, (mind, emotions, will) and spirit. I am a Christian. I welcome all clients from different backgrounds, religions, genders and sexual orientations. I believe we are created for relationship. We know ourselves in the context of our relationships. Healing occurs through repairing relationships and altering our interactions within those relationships.
My approach to therapy is from a systemic perspective. I believe that people work in relationship systems and each person in the relationship is important to the balance of the whole. When relationships become out of balance, it is a result of many different factors or patterns, which can be examined in the therapy sessions. I place a strong emphasis on healthy communication, problem solving and attachment experiences. I counsel families, couples, and individuals. My counseling technique is grounded in the science of Adult Attachment Theory and the ancient wisdom of the Scriptures as I understand them.
I live and worship in Franklin with my wife, son and daughter.
