About Laura Leslie
Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.
Brené Brown
I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theology Seminary and am a certified Prepare/Enrich counselor. I create a safe place where clients can fully be themselves, while encouraging them to reach for wholeness in mind, body, and spirit. I welcome all clients from different backgrounds, religion, and sexual orientation and counsel children, teens, adults, families and couples. I am supervised by Summer Curwen, LMFT (License #1196) while I pursue licensure in the state of Tennessee. I have completed the Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Growing up in a military family, I sought a deep need for connection and affirmation, which I pursued through competitive sports and academics. It wasn’t until my early adulthood that I realized this deep connection need is a common thread with individuals across many backgrounds and cultures. I began to understand the value of the “wholeness” of a person rather than the perfection we are taught to run after. My desires for helping others continued with life experiences such as marrying at a young age, relocating to new cities, and becoming a new mother. These opportunities allowed for an even greater conviction to help others obtain greater peace and authenticity by overcoming self-esteem issues, focusing on core-identity work, handling life transitions, and working through depression and anxiety.
When I am not with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, hiking nature trails, and road tripping to see new places.
