The road that led me to counseling began as a teacher watching my students struggle with a variety of social and emotional needs. When looking closer, I found that their needs extended beyond the classroom walls and into their homes. I felt a desire to be part of creating sustainable change that could promote emotional wellbeing for the family as a whole. Having been lost in my own symptoms of anxiety throughout my youth, I see the value of supporting both the child and the parent in navigating life’s many challenges.
I work from an attachment-base foundation and integrate trauma informed practices. I specialize in providing both play and talk based therapies that address symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and big behaviors. Over time, the children, teens and parents I work with develop new ways to communicate, nurture and heal leading to lasting, positive change.
I hold my M.S in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in children and adolescents as well as my M. Ed in Elementary Education. I am licensed as an LPC-MHSP and am certified in Trauma-Focused CBT. I'm also in the final stages of Trauma Play certification. In addition, I continue to work towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist and EMDR certified provider.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, salsa dancing and hiking with my husband and goldendoodle!
